The rapporteur of Covid’s Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI), senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL), announced that he will ask for the summons of the former sister-in-law of President Jair Bolsonaro Andrea Siqueira Valle to testify to the commission. The objective of the hearing, according to him, is to explain if there was a “mirroring” of the “cracks” scheme in the federal government, which would have the direct involvement of the president, as disclosed by the UOL this Tuesday.
In an announcement made by Twitter, Renan classifies as “fundamental” the call of Andrea. According to him, “as is well known, Carlos Bolsonaro is a key player in the parallel ministry and Flávio Bolsonaro an influential filter of nominations”.
Despite the summons request, the senator ponders that the intention of the ex-sister-in-law’s hearing is not to incriminate, but to clarify facts and detail quotes from military personnel made by her. “There are many signs and testimonies of the participation of military personnel in irregularities with the Covaxin and Astrazeneca vaccines”, concluded the CPI rapporteur.
The denunciations published this morning by UOL have recordings that point to Bolsonaro’s direct involvement in the illegal scheme of paying advisers’ salaries at the time he served in successive terms of federal deputy, between 1991 and 2018. The content indicates that the now the head of the Executive participated directly in the “rachadinha”. The president’s former sister-in-law also points out that a retired Army colonel, a former colleague of the president at the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (Aman), worked in the collection of salaries for the former sister-in-law of Bolsonaro, during the period in which she was listed as advisor to the former office of Flávio Bolsonaro in the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj).
