Four Israeli women who remain kidnapped by Hamas will be released this Saturday as part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian armed militia. These are four female soldiers, Liri Albag19 years old; Karina Ariev20; Daniella Gilboa20; and Naama Levy20, who will be released after a captivity of 477 days.
The four young women were assigned as observers in the Nahal Oz military basenext to the border between Israel and Gaza, on October 7, 2023, the day that Palestinian militants led by Hamas crossed the divide and killed almost 1,200 people in Israeli territory and kidnapped another 251. In the months before the attack, These observers warned that They had detected training, kidnapping drills and military exercises by Hamas militants and other groups inside Gaza, but their warnings were ignored.
When the four soldiers come out, there will be three women left in Gaza from the list of 33 that Hamas must release during the first phase of the agreement: soldier Agam Berger – the last soldier who would remain in Hamas captivity – Shiri Silberman, 33 years old; and Arbel Yehud, 29.
On the other hand, Hamas also hopes to provide Israel with the list of live and dead hostages who remain in the Gaza Strip. According to a source from the Islamist organization, “if the agreement is executed without problems” (the exchange of hostages for prisoners), they will deliver the list to the Israeli authorities.
