On August 24, two tourists from Moscow and St. Petersburg disappeared due to a rise in the water level in the river after heavy rains in the Karadakh gorge and a mudflow.
In addition, on 23 August, a group of 15 tourists was trapped in the mountains of Dagestan due to heavy rainfall.
