At the end of the federal council on registrations, the FIGC president announces: “On July 28th I will approve a three-year plan of regulations for the controls on national licenses”. The balance sheet is record-breaking
Gabriele Gravina’s project of “securing” the football system is moving forward quickly and there are still important reforms at stake, including that of the championships starting from Serie A. “I am very confident – said the FIGC president at the end of the Federal Council -, on 12 December I will convene a General Assembly with all the delegates to look us in the eye and talk about the future of Italian football. The reforms are going on: on July 28, before the start of the season, I will bring a three-year plan of rules for checks on the registrations to the championships for approval by the Council, without waiting for the reasons of the Guarantee Committee on the liquidity index. Then there are the projects related to infrastructure and youth sectors and finally also the reforms of the leagues. Today the Statute allows every component involved in the reform the right of veto, but we cannot remain in plaster like this, it is a rule that will need to be modified, it is a bit of a misfortune “. So if necessary, could we proceed to a new formula even without the Serie A vote? “Theoretically yes”. So the idea is that of a double step: a statutory Assembly (perhaps on December 12th) that modifies the rule on the right of veto of the single component and then the reforms, including the one on championships already proposed in the past with a Serie A to 18 teams.
THE BUDGET
–
Gravina then spoke enthusiastically about the final balance sheet for 2021: “An extraordinary balance that broke all records in terms of production value – € 229.5 million – even higher than that of an important year like 2006. We also had a margin EBITDA of over 40 million and a positive result of 11.1 million euros “.
APPEAL TO THE GOVERNMENT
–
The president also reiterated the need to have “concrete answers from the government to the world of sport, answers that we are waiting for and that have not yet arrived, such as for apprenticeships, constraints and sports work or the provision of refreshments”, speaking then of a “very compact football: sometimes a moment of impromptuness of some subjects who are a minority is confused with the whole movement. I have an excellent relationship with the League, friction can arise over moods and interpersonal relationships, but these are things that must be kept out of federal politics “.
