Although many have tried, no game has substantially succeeded replace Minecraft in the videogame Olympus, with the Mojang title which continues to be very young and current 14 years later, but this interesting Reforj seems to really be a sort of spiritual heir, as is also demonstrated by new pre alpha video published in these hours.
On the other hand, it is a project developed by a team that has dealt directly with Minecraft in the past: 4J Studios, responsible for this new voxel game, has in fact worked extensively on the console versions of the Mojang game, therefore he has all the secrets of Minecraft very clear and the experience gained on this has allowed him to build a truly interesting sandbox.
Reforj is an open world style game sandbox with survival elements which follows the Minecraft formula but also features rather original features, which in some ways can be considered more advanced.
A world in voxels
It is entirely built in voxelsand this allows for a more direct and complex interaction with the scenario, increasing flexibility in the construction and control of the environments.
The idea is that the developers were clearly inspired by the Mojang game on which they worked for a long time to build the identity of this new title too.
Reforj presents itself as a game strongly focused on exploration, survival and crafting, with a rather mysterious narrative that unfolds in a non-traditional way, leading players to discover many things on their own and encounter various more or less aggressive creatures.
There is no release date yet, but after the first details that have emerged we can see something more concrete in the video above.
