Redding’s watchful eye
Many will remember Scott Redding, BMW Superbike rider and previously involved in MotoGP with Honda, Ducati and Aprilia. In recent hours, the Briton has observed a ‘mysterious object’ sticking out of helmet Of Fabio Quartararoriding his Yamaha.

Two solutions under consideration
After a first attempt in Misano in 2020, MotoGP tested last year in Jerez two systems for communications with pilots, one placed near the earplugs, the other inside the ear. The tests had been conceived for Race Direction communications to the pilots, but further developments had not been ruled out both in the direction of the messages sent from the pits, but also in that of the direct responses of the pilots. And it was precisely this last case that Quartararo seemed to suggest with his words: “Can you hear me?”.
The major critical issues of these systems were those relating to noise and comfort.
