Mallorca-Real Madrid and Valencia-Barcelona will be the most notable matches of the first day of LaLiga, according to the calendar draw held this Tuesday at the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in Las Rozas. The Spanish First Division, in which Real Madrid will defend the title achieved this year, will begin the weekend of Friday August 16 to Sunday August 18 with the following matchday: Athletic-Getafe, Betis-Girona, Mallorca-Real Madrid, Las Palmas-Sevilla, Villarreal-Atlético de Madrid, Valencia-Barcelona, Real Sociedad-Rayo Vallecano, Celta-Alavés, Osasuna-Leganés and Valladolid-Espanyol/Oviedo (both teams are competing in the playoffs promotion to First).
The first Clásico of the 2024/2025 league season between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place on matchday eleven, on October 27, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. Meanwhile, the second leg will be played in the Barcelona fiefdom on the thirty-fifth matchday, on May 10 or 11, 2025.
In addition, Sevilla and Betis, the only Andalusian teams in First Division, will face each other on the weekends of October 6 at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and March 30, 2025 at the Benito Villamarín.
