A spokesperson for the auction house confirmed to Efe that it took ten days to remove the mosaic from the stadium and that it was transported “intact” to London, without risk of being damaged.
The value of the mosaic is estimated between 12,000 and 18,000 pounds.
The auction will begin on December 12 and will last for two weeks. In addition, an exhibition with the pieces will be held from December 20 to 26 at Sotheby’s gallery in central London.
