What about the school shooting for Ready or Not?
Void Interactive hit the mark with Ready or Not, now catapulted to the top of the most played titles on Steam. Success also means new expansions and updates, but one of these announcements must have created some trouble. Evidently, there are very sensitive issues, especially in the United States: a new level set in a school, during a shooting, would have pushed the publisher Team 17 to leave the field.
This affair was born on Reddit, after one of the developers named “Gruntr” confirmed the arrival of that level in the game. For those unfamiliar with it, Ready or Not centers its nature on impersonating SWAT agents, trying to foil thorny situations. This is where the breakup happened and while not officially related, the timing seems suspicious enough.
VOID Interactive and Team17 have mutually agreed that Team17 will no longer publish Ready or Not. We are confident that this is the right path for the future of Ready or Not, and we thank Team17 for their partnership and wish them great success with their spectrum of games!
