Reader ‘s opinion Municipal elections in connection with provincial elections

Ville Pernaa wrote aptly (HS Guest Pen 22.1.) postponing the forthcoming municipal elections to the forthcoming provincial elections early next year. What kind of tasks will future municipal councilors handle in the future? So-called voluntary associations of social municipalities have emerged in the country, but a large number of municipalities still decide on social and health issues. With the passage of the Sote reform, the decision-making power of municipalities will change significantly.

Holding elections at the same time would bring savings. Most importantly, the simultaneous holding of elections would also likely increase turnout. Another important issue would also be to find candidates for two close elections. Here, parties would always get a little extra time for challenging recruitment: will they run only in the second or both elections?
