Traditional urban transport based on walking, cars and public transport has coexisted with city bikes and electric kickboards. Electric kickboards provide easy, fast and emission-free door-to-door passage. This increases the functionality and comfort of cities.
Heikki Kasari wrote (HS Opinion 1.7)that electric kickboarders rushing past pedestrians have created a problem. Instead of banning electric kickboards, we should invest in a great bicycle banana network being built in Helsinki, which also serves electric kickboards. The pavements of cobblestone cycle paths should also be changed as they are not suitable for boards.
More parking spaces on the street are needed for electric kickboards. In addition, guidance and supervision are needed to help users learn to drive safely.
