Reader opinion There are ways to stop Putin

It is wise not to test the sensitivity of Putin’s nuclear weapon.

Of the European Union and the reluctance of the United States to send troops to Ukraine has been evident even before President Vladimir Putin’s nuclear threats. However, Putin’s military and political victory can also be prevented without the centralization of western armored divisions, fighter squadrons and aircraft carrier divisions.

Is it is wise not to test the sensitivity of Putin’s nuclear weapon. Ukraine’s struggle can be supported by multi-directional equipment, materials and intelligence. None of these streams alone will exceed any threshold for the use of nuclear weapons, but will create a cumulative slowdown on the Russian parade path.

Strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and anti-tank capabilities is key, as is the situational awareness and leadership of the state and military leadership. Protecting and strengthening the critical functions of Ukrainian society, such as cyber attacks and other harmful activities, will also prolong Putin’s military expedition.

Politically the West can feed Putin the medicine of Lenin and himself: the combined effect of many fronts, even the same range of means. Diplomatically, Putin’s weaknesses include China’s support, the opinion of the United Nations General Assembly, and international law.

President Putin’s person and the Russian system are very sensitive to influencing information; the West is not only accustomed to the kind of denial, reversal, and lying that Putin and other dictators have used against both their own NGOs and the international community.

Military blocking success also serves Putin’s greatest fear, the turn of the Russian people against him and his policies. As male losses increase and prices for fuel and basic food, for example, start to rise, the streets of Russian cities will begin to fill with protests. Economic sanctions can be effective if only we ourselves are prepared to pay for their use.

Political resistance is compounded by the resignation of companies, organizations and individuals from activities that even indirectly support Putin’s policies. Here, for example, sports clubs and trade unions have proven to be the most honest of traditional peace movements.

Prolonged and the creepy downside of the expanded struggle is the outsourcing of the actual war to the aisles of the Ukrainians. War is violent, and its escalation is also always a threat. Both the military philosophy of the East, the Western military strategy, and the communist game book support the use of many steps and expanded resistance.

Our own goals and means must be reconciled: it is a different matter to end Putin’s hostilities against the Ukrainian state and people than to oust Putin. On the other hand, these goals can also be combined.
