The party of the current mayor, David Almeida (Avante), won the largest number of seats in the capital’s Legislative Chamber
Manaus, capital of Amazonas, elected 41 councilors to the City Council last Sunday (6.Oct.2024). The mandate runs from 2025 to 2028. Avante, the party of the current mayor, David Almeidawho seeks re-election in the 2nd round against the candidate Captain Alberto Neto (PL), won 7 seats, the highest number in these elections.
União Brasil obtained the 2nd largest representation in the elections for councilors, with 6 seats, occupying 14.63% of the next City Council. The data are from TSE (Superior Electoral Court).
The other vacancies were divided between PL, Agir, MDB, PSD, PMB, Podemos, Republicans, Progressives, PRD, DC, PSB, PV, PT and PSDB.

The candidate for councilor in Manaus with the most votes was Sergeant Salazarfrom PL, with 22,594 votes. The 41-year-old military police officer, businessman and influencer is a supporter of the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). On his social networks, Salazar has the following number of followers:

- Youtube: 991 thousand
Of the 41 councilors elected in Manaus, 28 were re-elected, while 13 will take up the position for the first time.
