PT and Psol won 5 seats each in the municipal Legislature; next is the PL, with 4 seats
Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul, elected 35 councilors to the City Council last Sunday (Oct 6, 2024), with terms of office from 2025 to 2028. The president’s PT (Workers’ Party) Lula and PSOL (Partido Socialismo e Liberdade) elected the largest number of councilors, with 5 candidates each.
The PL (Liberal Party), of the former president Jair Bolsonarowon 4 seats, including Jesse Sangalli (PL), the most voted in the city, with 22,966 votes. In 2nd place was re-elected Karen Santos (Psol), who received 20,207 votes.

Colonel Ustra (PL), cousin of Colonel Carlos Alberto Brilhante Ustra, was elected with 2,669 votes. He held a position in the GSI (Institutional Security Office) office during the government of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
Vera Armando (Progressive), elected with 5,693 votes, is a journalist and publicist and is a presenter on TV Pampa, an affiliate of Rede TV! in Porto Alegre
