Feyenoord | Admiration for the players and the trainer
‘Praise for losing Feyenoord abroad: AS Roma survived and withstood the stampede’ (AD.nl 26-5). What a pain it has done. But true supporters love the club even now and let’s be proud of this great achievement. The joy that there was after the victory over Marseille has given way to gloom, but we look back with admiration at our boys and trainer. And a true supporter always remains loyal to our club.

US shooting | As long as weapons are easy to get, this will remain
Yet another president horrified at gun violence, but probably nothing will change’ (AD.nl 26-5). That’s what you get when everyone can get a firearm so easily. Then you shouldn’t be surprised if someone actually uses that weapon. They will never learn there, and as long as they do, we will continue to face this kind of carnage. Yes, but we must still be able to defend ourselves, they say in the US. Well, you see what comes of it. Abolish that possession of weapons and those weapons.

VVD | Listen to specialists such as the SER
‘A riddle why people still vote VVD’ (Letters 25-5). Indeed, as reader Kosterman and others write: a mystery why people still choose VVD. On the one hand, market forces, also in the public sector. So as little government interference as possible, often to the detriment of ordinary citizens. And on the other hand, many government regulations that adversely affect people’s work are annoying. And that in a modern country where the prime minister says that everything is perfectly arranged. Our drivers just can’t get it done. Listen to specialists such as the SER and others who do not publicize their expertise for their own benefit, but for the well-being of citizens and ultimately for the prosperity of our country.

VVD II | Logical, that party takes care of those who already have it right
Why do people still vote VVD? That seems pretty obvious to me: the VVD takes care of the people who are already well off, and there are quite a lot of them in our country. They would like to keep it that way.

KLM | Rather than Air France deciding everything
What is it, the continuous burning of KLM? It’s easy to score with all those messages. So much tax money disappears into a bottomless pit, but when KLM makes the news, everyone goes wild. This week I read that 400 million is going to Afghanistan. A country where girls have no education and women have no rights. Isn’t that tax money? Put things in perspective and give a little appreciation for an industry that has been hit hardest by corona and is working to pay back the aid. It is important to maintain control by the state so that not everything is determined by Air France. KLM is important to the Netherlands and if people really want this airline to be closed down, then a company from the Middle East will gladly fill the gap with all the consequences that entails.

Ambassador Russia | Out of the country and never back
‘Fascists, neo-Nazis and provocations: they do it themselves’ (AD 24-5). That Russian ambassador is completely off track and must go and have a look in Ukraine, no, he must be immediately deported from our beautiful country and never allowed in again, even if only with one foot.
