Sbk’s six-time world champion did not have a driving license for street bikes. A void filled in the last few days. And then he posted the video of the exam via social media: “In the tests I felt stressed …”
Happy and relieved, with the tension slowly fading after passing the exam. It also happens to those who want to obtain a driving license. It is more impressive that in front of the examiner there is not a neophyte, but a six-time World Superbike champion. Jonathan Rea did it: he managed to get a driving license for street bikes. A goal that the SBK king had set himself for at least a year, then postponed also due to the Covid emergency.
the relief of rea
The Northern Irishman has a YouTube channel and in the last period, more than the races, he was worried about the driving test. Rea explained in his video what the exam consisted of: “I had to slalom between the cones, draw an eight twice, emergency braking and steering at low speed”. A complete program, preceded by driving through traffic. Jonathan appeared very attentive and cautious, especially at stops and at intersections.
At the end of the exam, Rea shared his feelings, also discussing the progress of the test with his examiner: “No big mistakes, only small inaccuracies that we had already talked about”. In the end, the six-time world champion admitted: “Today I felt better, the last time I was driving I felt like I was much more stressed”. In any case, mission accomplished. A good way to prepare for the Assen challenge, scheduled from 23 to 25 July.
