The Ducati rider has 55 points to recover
Toprak Razgatlioglu will not run in Cremona this weekend. The Turkish rider suffered a mild pneumothorax two weeks ago at Magny-Cours following a crash in the second free practice session and will not be able to take to the track this weekend in Italy. The aim is to hope to recover for Aragon, scheduled for next weekend. In place of Razgatlioglu, BMW will field Markus Reiterberger. Nicolò Bulega has 55 points to recover and there will be 67 up for grabs in Cremona. The rookie can potentially regain the lead in the standings he took at the start of the season.
“I would have liked to get back on track in Cremona, but the recovery from the mild pneumothorax is taking longer than I initially hoped. – he said Toprak Razgatlioglu – It is important that I recover fully and my goal now is to get back on my BMW M 1000 RR at the next race weekend at MotorLand Aragon. We have to wait and take it one step at a time. One thing is certain: as soon as possible and when my health conditions allow it, I will return to the fight for the championship. In Cremona I will cheer on my team and hope to see the BMW M 1000 RR at the front and on the podium. A big thank you to everyone who supported me in this difficult period: we will see each other again soon on the track”.
“Toprak’s complete recovery is the top priority for everyone – he added Sven Blushnumber one of BMW Motorrad – everything else takes a back seat for now. That’s why we have decided together that he will not return to racing in Cremona. He is in good hands and is working closely with the medical team to get back on his BMW M 1000 RR by the next race weekend at MotorLand Aragon. However, we will take all the time we need. With Markus Reiterberger we have an excellent replacement from Cremona, who brings a wealth of experience with him. He will focus on groundwork and preparation over the weekend, gathering crucial information so that Toprak can fight for the championship with the best possible material after his return.”
