By now all the manufacturers of high-level gaming peripherals have dedicated an important area of their stores to the creation of product lines that are not expressly considered as peripherals but as Lifestyle. Halfway between the comfort and furnishings of a modern gaming station, gaming chairs have now become part of the collective imagination as an important accessory, especially for PC users who usually prepare a station dedicated to this genre. of activity.
Razer is already on the market with the Iskur, a complete line of products designed to please those who want to customize their gaming station. It is a line with four different models and even customizable with different accessories or versions according to the user’s weight. From today the Enki X also arrives in the catalog, a new iteration of the Iskur currently designed to reach a market range of less than 450 euros on which Razer is currently positioned.
The Enki X are chairs designed for 300 euros and to annoy all those producers such as Cooler Master for example, positioned to meet the needs of an audience looking for a quality product with a certain level of finishing and above all customization. regarding adjustments. Let’s start with the chair characterized by a completely black look with the exception of the green stitching in perfect Razer shade. On the top there is the Razer logo integrated into the headrest but otherwise there are no other elements that characterize the Enki X as a snake chair. The look is still very pleasant especially when coupled to a desk already equipped with Razer peripherals with black and green color.
In addition to the belt loop with a completely aesthetic function, the rhomboidal seams that involve part of the backrest and seat are noteworthy, giving the chair a quite pleasant “quilt” look, even thinking about the fabric other than the polyurethane imitation leather that characterizes the chair at the top, back and side of the seat. The armrests are made of soft rubber at the top and can only be positioned in height but still comfortable enough for people of short or tall stature.
The adjustments are the classic ones, i.e. the height while the backrest tilts up to an angle of 135 ° without any overturning problem. Stability is excellent and is guaranteed by the classic five-arm pinout with excellent quality wheels, very stable and perfectly sliding. Integrated features of this Razer chair is the lumbar support integrated directly into the backrest that does not require the use of additional cushions. The density of the padding is also noteworthy: that of the back is denser than that of the seat for better stiffness in the upper part and better comfort in the lower part.
We have used the Enki X for about two weeks and we can confirm that it is a well-made and good quality chair, especially as regards the ergonomics of the seat: the lumbar part is really well shaped and supports the lower part of the chair very comfortably. backbone without bothering, as well as the seat is rather soft but comfortable and allows the weight to be unloaded fairly evenly over the entire lower part. Even in prolonged use we did not have any problems of adaptation or particular pains in the legs, also considering the considerable height of those who were using the chair.
As mentioned, we really appreciated the different quality of the padding which significantly changes the quality of the seat compared to other competing chairs characterized by an imitation leather surface along the entire back and lower part. The back and butt have more “grip” by virtue of a rhomboid design that tends to make the butt slip less. Even the leatherette strip in the center of the backrest is able to give greater resistance to the central part of the back, for greater than standard comfort.
There are some flaws, but they are mostly deficiencies present in other chairs of this level. We are talking about the impossibility of adjusting the palm rests forward, which would certainly be appreciated by people of strong build. Even the presence of a headrest pillow to relax by massaging the inner part of the neck would be a noteworthy plus. Unfortunately, these are features reserved for the two older sisters of this chair, the Razer Enki and the Enki Pro that we have not been able to test but which actually confirm the evolved version of this product with some extra features starting from the possibility of having inserts in alcantara (the Pro), a magnetic headrest cushion, 4D armrests with aluminum rods and the reactive tilt system of the seat for better user stability.
We then enter the quality / price / feature ratio and it is this that essentially makes the difference when we go to compare these Enki X with the direct competition. If the build quality is more than good, as well as the aesthetics, made specifically to marry a fully Razer branded gaming station, we cannot help but notice that in terms of features this chair costs about seventy euros more. similar products while we are in direct competition with chairs that also have features such as adjustable armrests in all positions and headrest cushions.
A normal user will surely go towards the product with the most attractive price tag but it is clear that the Razer brand is considered by the general public to be a Premium product for which enthusiasts are willing to spend a higher level for a product of undoubted quality designed to characterize. your gaming station already equipped with other Razer products. If you are also part of this category and your budget stops at 350 euros, this chair will give you excellent satisfaction in use and aesthetics; those with even deeper pockets go directly to the top-of-the-range version, without further ado.
