The Roman coach signs a two-year contract with the Pozzo club, which finally manages to put his old protégé on the bench
He will return to ring the bell in England after importing “dilly-ding dilly-dong” to Italy. Claudio Ranieri is officially the new Watford coach, and finds a piece of Italy in the Pozzo family, which as already told by Gazzetta yesterday, has finally managed to bring the Roman coach to the Hornets bench. Ranieri’s staff will be composed of his second Paolo Benetti, Filippo Cornacchia and the athletic trainer Carlo Spignoli, historical collaborators and precious assistants also in the two years at Samp.
RETURN TO PREMIER
–
This is Ranieri’s fourth experience in England after Chelsea and Fulham in 2018-19, just before returning to Italy and leading Roma (again) and then Sampdoria. But above all Leicester, the team with which the Roman coach, 70 on 20 October, won the Premier League in 2016 and made history.
