With a post on Twitter, the official account of Rainbow Six Extraction announced that the game has officially entered the gold phase, which means that there will be no further postponements and therefore the multiplayer shooter will arrive as scheduled in stores on January 20, 2022.
For the uninitiated, “gold phase” means development is complete and the game is ready to go to print. The launch of Rainbow Six Extraction was originally set for the month of November, but Ubisoft later postponed it to January 2022. Now that the game has entered the gold phase, therefore, there should be no further delays.
In Rainbow Six Extraction, players will take on the role of elite operators belonging to the Rainbow Six universe, but with a totally different formula from that of Siege. Extraction is in fact voted for co-op and PvE. Inspired by Siege’s Outbreak mode, operators will face a new species of mutated alien parasite and foil a mysterious extraterrestrial threat.
Ubisoft recently released a trailer about Rainbow Six Extraction’s story and add-on content schedules.
