The last touched farewell to Raffaella Carrà
Raffaella Carrà had been ill for some time but had kept the news of her illness for herself and for her family. She died at 16.20 on 5 July 2021, at the age of 78. In her latest arrangements, the singer and TV presenter asked for a simple unfinished wooden coffin and an urn to hold her ashes.
Raffaella Maria Roberta Pelloni, this is her name at the registry office, was born in Bologna on June 18, 1943 and grew up in Romagna. While still a child she moved to Rome to study at the National Dance Academy and at the Experimental Center for Cinematography. It was only in the 1960s that it changed its name using the pseudonym of art with which it is known.
Sergio Japino, director and choreographer, addressed an appeal to the artist’s fans to remember her and give her a last goodbye together. “I make an appeal”, said Raffaella Carrà’s ex-partner, “I ask all her fans, in Italy, in the world, in the churches of small villages as in those of large cities, to meet at 12 noon on this day. Friday, to offer all together the last virtual farewell to Raffaella ”.
