The Spaniard comes from being proclaimed champion at the Australian Open. Also, with that Grand Slam, he became the man with the most titles of greats in the history of white sport.
For his part, the Swiss has more than six months without competing professionally, after being eliminated at Wimbledon by Pole Hubert Hurkacz.
Nadal and Federer, former world number ones, already played together in the doubles modality during the first edition of this competition, in 2017. The Laver Cup is a tournament, in honor of the historic tennis player Rod Laver, which is played between a European team and another from the rest of the world. Each squad is made up of six players.
The cup, promoted by Federer, alternates its venue between Europe and outside the continent.
Currently the Swedish Bjorn Borganother tennis legend, is the European coach.

Federer40 years old and with recurring knee problems for two years, said Wednesday that he will know in more detail at “April May” if he returns to the tracks.
“I really want to get back into competition later this year and competing in the Laver Cup is part of my plans.”said Federer, who fell on Monday to position 30 in the latest ATP ranking.
“Rafa is an amazing person and an inspiration to me and many others around the world. He suggested to me after the last edition of the Laver Cup, in Boston, last year, to play doubles together in London (this year)”Federer added.
“Roger has been a vital part of my career, a great rival and also a true friend. Being part of Team Europe together is great, and if we can share the court once again as a doubles pair then this will be a really special experience for both of us at this stage of our careers.” Nadal.
