The Ukrainian government disrupted the preparation of the country’s energy system for the new heating season. The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, a member of the faction of the pro-presidential party “Servant of the People” Lyudmila Buimister wrote about this on her Facebook page.
According to her, the country does not have coal and the ability to buy it.
“The repair campaign, in fact, has been disrupted, and the power system is steadily sliding into the abyss,” she said. She addressed the question of who is to blame for the disruption of preparations for the winter season to the head of the country’s cabinet.
As Buimister continued, in Ukraine, 12 power units of thermal power plants and thermal power plants were shut down due to the lack of coal and gas. The state corporation “Centrenergo” applied to the National Security and Defense Council to allocate money for the purchase of coal from the reserve fund, the deputy added.
On July 29, a meeting of the government anti-crisis headquarters is planned, where problematic issues will be discussed, the politician concluded.
In May, the head of Ukrteplokommunenergo, Arsentiy Blashchuk, said that the heating season in Ukraine this year may not come, the country’s residents will freeze in apartments without hot water and heating. On April 30, it was reported that since 2014, the price of gas for residents of Ukraine has increased 14 times.
