Several Formula 1 teams are racing against the clock in the run-up to the Brazilian GP in São Paulo on Sunday. Part of the freight from Mexico, where Max Verstappen strengthened his lead in the World Cup position, has not yet been delivered due to delays.
The first practice session is scheduled for Friday afternoon. According to the F1 spokesperson, the official timetable is not (yet) in danger.
“There was a delay in the departure from Mexico on Monday due to weather conditions, so that part of the cargo still has to arrive in Brazil,” said the spokesman. “The material will be delivered on Thursday, without consequences for the race weekend.”
Due to the delay, some teams will have to work overtime to get everything in order for Friday’s first free practice. The sprint race is already scheduled for Saturday, so there will be no traditional qualifying in Brazil. It is unclear which teams are still waiting for their loads and which items are involved.
