“Lombardy has always believed in the local pharmacy and in the pharmacy of services, because in all the regional regulations it has always given great space to the pharmacy of the services that we provide, from the Cup to screening, from telemedicine to vaccinations. We are now working on a big project: telemedicine affiliated with the Regional Health System. This project is part of the pharmacy services but also of the allocation that came from the national government.” Annarosa Racca, president of Federfarma Lombardia, said this on the sidelines of the panel ‘Towards the full implementation of the service pharmacy’ during the event “Towards the full implementation of the service pharmacy. “I think that vaccinating in pharmacies, in agreement with the Lombardy Region, is very important – adds Racca – In Italy, vaccinations in pharmacies started much later than many other European nations. We started doing this during the Covid period, but now we can also vaccinate people against the flu. However, it would be important to also vaccinate against Herpes zoster, HPV, pneumococcus or tetanus. I think that if we want to do prevention in our country and in the pharmacy we must increase the ability of pharmacists to vaccinate” she concludes.
