Yamaha ‘constant’ also in Indonesia
After the two seventh places obtained in Misano Fabio Quartararo he also confirmed himself in the same position in Indonesia in Mandalika although it should be remembered that there were several excellent retirements (such as those of Enea Bastianini, Marc Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio) which favored the Yamaha rider’s placing.
El Diablo lost a lot of positions in the first lap because the medium rear tire took a long time to reach temperature: “All weekend we were unable to warm up the medium rear tire quickly. We lost a lot of seconds because of this at the start of the race. The pace, though, was really good. We chose the hard medium front and I managed to brake very late and overtake, but I’m not very happy with the result. I was fast and finished closer to the riders in front of me, which is good. We are working and improving step by step. We have been in Q2 two weekends in a row and have achieved P7 in the last two races, so we are going in the right direction. But more than focusing on positions, I think we need to focus on the speed we are achieving, and today we had good speed.”
Alex Rins he finished the race in eleventh place, losing too much ground on the first lap: “We knew it would be difficult to warm up the rear tire, but it was even more difficult than expected. We started Friday quite well, but we weren’t able to make the progress we wanted.”
