Qualcomm announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Arriver from SSW Partners, thus improving the ability to provide open and integrated solutions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to automakers and Tier 1 suppliers. Qualcomm Technologies has been in the automotive industry for more than 20 years with tools to build connected vehicles and driving autonomous. The company recently announced collaborations with General Motors, BMW, Ferrari and Renault. Following the Qualcomm acquisition will integrate the Arriver product lines into its Snapdragon Drive platform, a comprehensive portfolio of automotive computer systems based on the company’s SoC. More information on the deal will be revealed in April. With a “technology roadmap” that points to connectivity, high computing power, cameras, graphics, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, Qualcomm Technologies has secured an automotive design-win pipeline worth more than $ 13 billion.
