Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, October 14, will take part in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in the format of a video conference. This is reported on October 12 press service The Kremlin.
“Topical issues of the activities of the Eurasian Economic Union will be considered. These include joint counteraction to the spread of coronavirus infection and overcoming the negative consequences of the pandemic in the socio-economic sphere, cooperation in the energy sector and the formation of common oil and gas markets, interaction on climate change and environmental protection, ”the press service said.
In addition, a number of decisions are expected to be made aimed at further deepening Eurasian integration.
On August 20, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the intergovernmental council of the EAEU countries said that the economies of the organization’s countries are gradually recovering against the backdrop of a pandemic thanks to joint actions. So, he noted that the output of agricultural products increased by 0.6%, the volume of industrial production – by 4.4%, the production of the manufacturing industry – by 6.5%.
On the same day, the head of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the Supreme Council of the EAEU will be held in December 2021 in Kazakhstan’s Almaty. He also noted that the commission faces great tasks.
