As economic sanctions against Russia increase, President Vladimir Putin has accused the West of escalating the war. The statement was made in a video posted on Twitter.
“The sanctions introduced amount to a declaration of war,” he insisted. Last week, the Kremlin chief had already announced that “all Russian actions are just a response to hostile actions against the Russian Federation”.
Putin ended the speech with a message to the West, in a threatening tone: “I will advise you not to aggravate the situation and not to impose sanctions”.
