Devaluation of national currencies carries a great risk. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his speech at the G20 summit, which is being held in the format of a video conference. The event is broadcast by Youtube-channel RT.
The Russian leader explained that fiscal revenues are declining, while the need for additional economic support is increasing.
During his speech, Putin also named the main risks for the world. In his opinion, this is massive unemployment and an increase in poverty. The President of Russia noted that the scale of the problems that humanity faced in 2020 is unprecedented. He compared the economic crisis triggered by the pandemic to the times of the “Great Depression.”
Over the past day in Russia, a record 24,822 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in 85 regions. Most infections were recorded in Moscow (7168), St. Petersburg (2476) and the Moscow region (916). Least of all – in the Nenets (9) and Chukotka (5) Autonomous Districts. 26,021 people have fully recovered.
