Putin denied the creation of a military alliance between Russia and China, threatening other countries
President Vladimir Putin has denied allegations that Russia is building a military alliance with China that could pose a threat to other countries. He stated this in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin on the TV channel “Russia 24”.
“This is absolutely not true,” the Russian leader replied to the relevant question.
The head of state noted that Moscow and Beijing really cooperate in the military-technical sphere and do not hide it, however, according to him, everything is transparent there and “there is nothing secret.”
Earlier, The Washington Post wrote that the US and its allies need to be ready to respond to the growing alliance between Russia and China, which is capable of changing the world order. As the publication clarified, an alliance is growing between the two biggest strategic and military rivals of the United States.
On March 20, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow for a two-day visit and met with Putin. Following the talks, the leaders of the countries signed two joint documents: a statement on plans for economic cooperation and a statement on plans to deepen partnership.
