During a call with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Vladimir Putin confirmed, “the Russian side’s readiness to facilitate the maritime transport of goods without any obstacles, in coordination with Turkish partners.”
He explained that this “also applies to grain exports coming from Ukrainian ports,” according to a statement issued by the Kremlin.
The Kremlin added that the two presidents discussed “ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black and Azov seas, and removing the danger of mines in their waters.”
Putin renewed allegations that the global food shortage was the result of “short-sighted” Western policies, noting that Russia was “ready to export large quantities of fertilizer and agricultural products, if the sanctions imposed on it are lifted.”
