Any weakening of sovereignty is a deadly threat to Russia. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, September 21.
He stressed that for 1160 years in Russia they have firmly learned that it is mortally dangerous for the country to weaken its sovereignty even for a while, to abandon national interests.
“During such periods, the very existence of Russia was threatened, more such mistakes will not be expected from us. We will not succumb to blackmail and intimidation,” the president said at a concert on the occasion of the 1160th anniversary of the birth of Russian statehood.
Putin also noted that Russia had been built for centuries as a common home for people of various nationalities and religions.
The Russian leader stressed that even despite the brutal invasions of our country by enemies, fragmentation and tragic civil strife that happened in Russian history, these dark periods were always replaced by stages of revival.
“The heroic generations of our people overcame difficulties and hardships, overcame all trials, created, multiplied the greatness of our Fatherland and covered their names with glory,” the head of the Russian state said.
Putin also noted that no one is able to destroy such Russian values as love for justice, loyalty to truth, compassion and readiness to achieve prosperity not for oneself alone, but for the whole country.
The President also pointed out that no one is able to ban or cancel Russia’s unique civilization and richest culture.
“And for our Fatherland, for our Motherland, which we have one, for our freedom, independence and sovereignty, for our culture and traditions, we will fight, we will defend and defend them in the name of our ancestors and our descendants, for the sake of Russia, its great history and a great future,” the head of state said.
Earlier on Wednesday, during an address to the citizens of the country, the president said that the independence and freedom of Russians would be ensured by all means. He stressed that he believes in the support of the Russians.
On the eve of September 20, Putin said that Russia would not turn off its sovereign course. He stressed that the country intends to further promote a unifying international agenda, contribute to the search for effective answers to the challenges of our time, and contribute to the regulation of regional conflicts.
