Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the traveler Fyodor Konyukhov on his 70th birthday. The corresponding telegram on Sunday 12 December was published on the Kremlin’s official website.
According to Putin, Konyukhov is known all over the world as a bright, extraordinary, strong-willed person and a tireless traveler who, with his unique expeditions and campaigns, is worthy of continuing the traditions of Russian explorers and discoverers. “Your unique expeditions amaze with the scale and boldness of the idea and, of course, are of great importance for the education of young people,” the President of Russia noted.
Vladimir Putin wished Fyodor Konyukhov health, good spirits and success in all his endeavors.
On December 12, the Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov turned 70 years old. Over the years, he made more than 50 expeditions, set 25 world records, made four trips around the world, crossed the Atlantic 17 times, and also became the first person on the planet to reach the five poles of the Earth.
