“By the decree of President Vladimir Putin, the title of Hero of Russia was awarded to the commander of the marine brigade, Colonel Alexei Bernhard. Alexey received the highest military award for skillful actions in the performance of combat missions during a special military operation in eastern Ukraine. His unit successfully broke through the enemy defenses and put him on a stampede, ”he wrote on the Telegram channel.
Kozhemyako said that Bernhard served for several years in the 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet in Vladivostok. He stressed that he is valued here as a comrade-in-arms and a competent commander. The head of Primorye also noted the courage and skills of the marines.
Earlier, on March 3, Putin awarded officer Gadzhimagomedov the title of Hero of Russia posthumously.
He noted that the title was awarded to the officer for the feat accomplished during Russia’s special operation to protect Donbass.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the payment of 5 million rubles to participants in a special operation in Ukraine. As the head of state added, an additional payment of 3 million rubles should be provided for those wounded in the operation. At the same time, the families of the victims will be paid a one-time allowance – 7,421,000 rubles.
Earlier during a meeting of the Security Council, Putin stressed that mercenaries and nationalists in Ukraine use civilians and foreign citizens as human shields. At the same time, Russian servicemen show heroism and courage.
