Russian President Vladimir Putin called the sanctions against Moscow an attempt by the West to “earn points” through anti-Russian sentiment. He expressed his opinion at a meeting with participants in the Congress of Young Scientists on Wednesday, December 8, reports TASS…
Putin noted that the sanctions are being adopted without any external reasons.
“And sometimes one gets the impression that various political forces in the same States are simply competing with each other, showing their anti-Russian attitude, and thus earning domestic political points. Just fighting among themselves, ”he said.
Putin added that there is nothing good in such a situation. “And what is curious: I don’t see how they can get out of this loop, although, of course, they will have to do it. You just have to – due to the peculiar development of the situation in the world, ”the President concluded.
During the meeting, Putin also said that in recent days he has been constantly discussing sanctions. “We just talked about this with the Prime Minister of Greece, I recently parted with him. And again about the sanctions. Yesterday we spoke with President Biden about sanctions, and with Kostyukevich also about sanctions, ”Putin said.
