Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
In the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, the politician will take part in the international forum “The relationship of times and civilizations – the basis of peace and development.” The event is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.
Also during his visit to Turkmenistan, Putin will meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The main topic of the negotiations will be relations between Moscow and Tehran; the parties will also discuss the situation in the Middle East.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on Ashgabat, which did not sign the Rome Statute, to “arrest” Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Turkmenistan. In a statement, the department calls the Russian leader a “war criminal” against whom a warrant has been issued by the International Criminal Court.
