Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed establishing new payments for children aged eight to 16 for all low-income families. He stated this during an address on the occasion of March 8, reports RIA News.
According to him, this measure will take effect on April 1, and families will be able to receive the first payments in May. Putin noted that the state will do everything to support families, and called this goal a priority. He also recalled that Russia already has monthly payments for pregnant women and families with low incomes, where children under the age of seven are growing up. In addition, support is provided to parents raising children aged eight to 16 alone.
In December 2021, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the Russian government would allocate an additional 14 billion rubles for payments to parents raising children alone. “Now such payments are assigned to families in which more than one million 300 thousand children are growing in total. So that they receive the funds they are entitled to on time, the government will send almost 14 billion rubles more,” Mishustin said. This money is allocated in addition to the previously provided for 36 billion rubles.
