Public transport|Online downloading of the HSL card will be temporarily closed at the end of the year.
Helsinki From October 16, you can no longer load value, i.e. money, or buy daily tickets to the card from the regional transport (HSL) online store, tells HSL in its announcement.
After mid-October, only season tickets can be purchased online for the card. They will no longer be available after December 31st, when online loading of the HSL card will be temporarily closed. Among other things, the news covered the matter Helsinki News.
According to the release, the service interruption is related to the reform of HSL’s online store, after the implementation of which the value or ticket purchased online does not need to be separately transferred to the HSL card. It is not yet known when the new HSL ticket shop will open.
From the present a ticket bought in the online store cannot be transferred to the HSL card with new reader devices, but the ticket or value had to be transferred to the card, for example, by showing it to the old reader or machine after the first use after purchase.
All of HSL’s readers will be replaced during the end of the year, and at the beginning of October three quarters of the devices have been replaced, the release states.
Even after mid-October, the HSL card can still be loaded with value at R-kiosks, Aleppo, S-markets, Prisms, vending machines and HSL and municipal service points.
To the press release according to 77 percent of HSL’s customers use the HSL application and 23 percent use the HSL card.
