Public transport | HSL warns of public transport congestion on the weekend – Sunrise Avenue says goodbye to the Helsinki Olympic Stadium

Traffic jams can be expected in Helsinki on the weekend when Sunrise Avenue’s farewell concerts are held at the Olympic Stadium.

Finland Sunrise Avenue, one of the most popular bands farewell gigs have already moved because of the coronavirus by two yearsbut the awaited concerts in the coming weekend will finally take place at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium.

Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) warns of congestion, which can be expected especially in bus and tram traffic on Mannerheimintie after the concerts on Friday and Saturday.

According to the Olympic Stadium’s website, the events end at midnight at the latest.

HSL says that he will increase public transport departures on the nights after both concerts.

For some of the L, K and P trains, HSL runs longer trains than usual. There are extra carriages on trains that leave Helsinki between around midnight and one o’clock.

There are also additional departures on bus lines 37, 40, 321, 322, 431N and 500.

HSL urges people to reserve more travel time than usual and to use local trains if possible.

Due to the added carriages, trains have more space for passengers than buses and trams, according to HSL.

From the Olympic Stadium is about a kilometer to Pasila station along Nordenskiöldinkatu and Veturitieti.
