The beginning of next week will be marked by highs that will reach 42.2 degrees
The General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions of the Ministry of Health has decreed the yellow level of the Preventive Action Plan against the Effects of Heat, since it is expected that next Monday the maximum and minimum temperatures considered threshold will be exceeded. For that day, the thermometers will reach a maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23.7 degrees, according to sources from the Emergency Coordination Center.
For this reason, 112 informs of the aforementioned forecast and advises taking measures to avoid the harmful effects of high temperatures on the health of people, especially the most vulnerable, such as the elderly, young children and sick people. For today, Friday, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) activates the yellow warning in the Vega del Segura, where it is expected that 38 degrees will be reached. Temperatures will rise throughout the weekend, when in some areas the mercury will register up to 40 degrees.
Once again, one of the cities in which the temperatures will be higher is Murcia, where the maximum is expected to reach 38 degrees and the minimum 21. Very similar temperatures to those that will be recorded tomorrow, Saturday, with a small variation of a degree. However, the mercury will rise to 39 degrees next Sunday and the minimum will be 22. In Caravaca de la Cruz, the maximum temperatures will reach 37 degrees on Friday and Saturday. The worst is expected for Sunday when, according to predictions, 40 degrees will be reached, while the minimum will range between 16 and 18 degrees.
