The Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function has recommended that public workers return to their jobs in the different Administrations as of this Wednesday as far as possible, after the effects of the storm Filomena have been subsiding. This has been made known by the department headed by Minister Carolina Darias through an instruction this Tuesday, in which it recommends to the ministerial departments and dependent centers that, from tomorrow, January 13, they adopt the necessary measures so that, in all the affected localities, the incorporation of public employees to the work centers takes place gradually, progressively and flexibly. All this to the extent that circumstances allow it.
This new instruction does not contravene the one transferred last Saturday, in which public workers were urged to telework both on Monday and Tuesday of this week, since the deadline for all of them to continue operating remotely remains open until next January 17, “as long as it is necessary.”
This modality will not be available, however, “in those cases in which the face-to-face work formula is essential for the maintenance of essential public services for citizens”, warns the Public Function.
