Psychonauts 2 It has a unique and slightly strange plot: Enter people’s minds by projecting your psyche into their brain and explore it at your leisure as you discover their secrets, fight their anxiety attacks, and defeat their regrets and anger. And all this on any given day.
We know that Tim Schafer, creator of this franchise and founder of Double Fine, had this idea while developing the adventure game of Full throttle, but we had the opportunity to interview him to find out exactly where this inspiration came from.
Inspiration from Psychonauts 2
‘In college I took dream psychology class and saw how people while sleeping can make these beautiful metaphors for what they are going through emotionally. Or if they are stressed they create a monster or a giant bear and fight against it.
I thought about how everyone has the ability to create these metaphors, not just a poet or a novelist. They are stories that people dream about every night
This inspired me a lot (for Psychonauts 1 and 2) and also how everyone and their personalities are so different. And if we could go inside his mind, we would see a different landscape because each one is unique‘, explained the creative.
The story of Psychonauts 2 begins right after the events of Rhombus of Ruin. Here Raz and his team managed to rescue Truman Zanotto, leader of the psychonauts and father of his girlfriend, Lili; however, it is obvious that the evil Loboto was following someone else’s orders.
This little doubt unleashes a lot of events and the players finally know more about the origins of Raz, the Psychonauts and their founders, who are more strange and varied than one could imagine.
Psychonauts 2 is a Platformer game that is now available for PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series. In addition, it can be played for free if you are already a Game Pass subscriber.
