Psychologists told how to protect yourself during the first date and named effective ways of self-defense. Their words leads “Gazeta.ru”.
Psychologist Yana Valovaya explained that the first date with a person you met online is real Russian roulette. First of all, it is worth carefully studying the profile of the interlocutor and not ignoring anything that seems strange.
Psychologist and relationship expert Lorella Galtsova added that the obsessive or toxic behavior of a friend during a first date can be a wake-up call. “For example, he may make disdainful comments about jokes or desires, make negative assessments about appearance, make him look stupid or give funny, derogatory nicknames, and also ignore the opinion. This also includes cases when a partner forces his companion to eat or drink, ”she noted.

Also, according to Galtsova, attention should be paid to how the interlocutor treats service workers: if he is rude and shows disrespect, this can be an alarming sign. To protect yourself, the expert recommends making dates in crowded places where it is easier to get help and support. It is even better to warn friends and relatives about the meeting and send them the coordinates of the place where it is planned.
The psychologist recommended staying calm and defending your personal boundaries confidently and firmly. “If someone violates your personal space, then immediately make it clear that you do not agree and leave,” she said.
