Candidate of Medical Sciences, psychologist and psychiatrist, hypnotherapist Yevgeny Fomin told how to cope with despair due to the heat.
In a conversation with the TV channel “360” on Wednesday, July 14, the specialist noted that the abnormal heat is exhausting and depriving of strength, which makes many people despair, suffer from a depressed state that interferes with living and working, and a depressed mood can cause a nervous breakdown.
He explained that depression causes a feeling of helplessness, since a person finds himself in uncomfortable living conditions for him, which he cannot influence.
“You can’t switch the heat, like an air conditioner, to coolness. A person understands that no matter what he does, nothing will lead to the desired result, to a change in the situation. The feeling of helplessness, lack of freedom, lack of choice plunges a person into an anxious-depressive state. It needs to be rationalized, ”the expert suggested.
Fomin noted that in a state of stress, people begin to catastrophize and hang on the future certain undesirable results of current events.
A person can restore peace of mind on their own, the psychologist emphasized. To do this, it is important to understand whether it is just a fever or something destructive that can deliberately disrupt health.
“By asking questions within yourself, you can bring this state to the level of logic and cope on your own. That is, the abnormal heat will definitely end. It will last a maximum of a week or two. Working with destructive emotional states, a person can bring himself back to normal, ”the psychologist noted.
According to him, it is important to understand that it is “uncomfortable, but you can live with it,” writes “Moscow 24”…
