Playing on a computer, console, or smartphone before bedtime can cause insomnia. This was told by the psychologist, director of the Center for Practical Psychology Sergei Klyuchnikov on Monday, August 30.
The thing is that games stimulate the processes of excitation in the central nervous system. Therefore, it can be so difficult for a gamer to break away from the game, and as a result, it can drag on much longer than he planned. But even after the end of the game, a person cannot immediately calm down.
“After this process, the person is overexcited and lies in bed for some time, and images from the monitor or smartphone flash before his eyes. That is, then it is still difficult to break away from a purely psychological point of view, ”the psychologist explained in an interview with radio Sputnik
At first, a person simply does not get enough sleep, then a regular lack of sleep already affects his behavior.
“If he does not sleep, then later he feels lethargic, which is reflected in communication, and at work, and on health. A night vigil in front of a phone or computer “slows down” our life, progress and achievement of goals. All this is eaten up by the night vigil, “Klyuchnikov said.
In his opinion, chronic lack of sleep turns a person into a neurotic, who is characterized by hysteria and pessimism.
