Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars in the title match of Pakistan Super League on the basis of a brilliant half-century by star batsman Babar Azam (63 *). The Karachi team, captained by Imad Wasim, became the first champions in this T20 league by winning by 5 wickets.

Babur hit 7 fours in his unbeaten innings of 49 balls. He completed his fifty off 40 balls with fours off the fourth ball of the 15th over of Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s innings. Babar added 61 runs for the third wicket with Walton Chadwick (22).
Chasing a 135-run target, Karachi’s first wicket fell as Sharjeel Khan (13), who was caught by Fakhar Zaman off Samit Patel. Sharjeel hit 2 fours off 12 balls. Then Alex Hales (11) was bowled by Dilbar Hussain, who hit a four off 11 balls. Babar led the innings with Walton and took the team’s score to 100. Walton scored 22 off 27 balls with the help of a four which was lbw out by Dilbar Hussain.
For the Lahore team, Haris Rauf took two wickets, which showed the way of pavilion to Iftikhar Ahmed (4) and Sherfan Rutherford (0) on consecutive balls of the 18th over. Apart from him, Dilbar Hussain took 2 wickets while Samit Patel got one wicket.
Earlier, the Lahore Qalandars team scored 134 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Tamim Iqbal contributed the most 35 runs and added 68 runs for the first wicket with Fakhar Zaman (27). However, the team lost the opening 3 wickets within just 2 runs.

Lahore’s first wicket on the team score of 68 fell as Tamim on the first ball of the 11th over. Then Umed Asif drove Fakhar to the fourth ball of the same over. On the first ball of the next over, Hafeez (2) was run by captain Imad Wasim.
The Lahore team’s wickets kept falling at regular intervals and the team could only manage 134 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Umaid, Waqas Maqsood and Arshad Iqbal of Karachi got 2-2 wickets while Imad took one wicket.
