PSG and Real Madrid are being the protagonists in terms of the transfer market because of the future of Kylian Mbappé with the continuous multi-million dollar attempts of the Parisians to retain him and renew his contract. But the French player is not the only one facing both clubs.
Both the Spanish and the French are closely following the Lazio player, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and this game looks set to fall on the French side. According to reports from Italy, PSG would have already met with the player’s entourage to assess his willingness to land in the Parc des Princes and they would have offered 80 million euros for him, thus anticipating all the suitors that the Serbian has, such as they are Manchester United, Juventus of Turin or Real Madrid.
However, Lazio has valued its player at 100 million euros, so the agreement with PSG is far from closed and the rest of the interested clubs will have the opportunity to join the bid for the Serbian.
The name of Milinkovic-Savic has been associated with Madrid since the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the player himself has been willing to sign for the white team: “I have dreamed of playing for Real Madrid since I was a child. This is the biggest goal of my career and I will do my best to achieve it,” he said more than a year ago in statements to Serbian television Nova TV.
Although Madrid’s objective is still to bring Mbappé and Haaland together, the club chaired by Florentino Pérez is still interested in Milinkovic-Savic and as reported from The National they will not withdraw from the bid. We will have to see if they reach the 100 million requested by Claudio Lotito and, above all, to see who benefits from this duel: PSG or Real Madrid.
