To buy PS5 it’s not that easy, not even in the US. But now it is becoming even more complex and expensive. The Sony console, to be purchased by Best Buy, requires a Totaltech subscription, which costs $ 200 per year. If you are not registered, you cannot buy the console.
Best Buy has a service called Totalteach which grants various bonuses, such as free delivery within two days, product installation, customer support, free returns within 60 days, exclusive discounts and a two-year product warranty. The service therefore has its own usefulness, but blocking a limited product like PS5 for a $ 200 payment is obviously not a pleasant choice for many buyers.
In Italy, on Amazon, Prime members have priority access to the purchase of PS5: however, it is different from exclusive access. In addition, the cost of a Prime subscription is much lower and offers other services in addition to those of Totaltech. Certainly the situation is not easy and Best Buy is trying to reward the most loyal customers with this strategy, but it is impossible not to think that it also does it to encourage more people to spend extra money.
What do you think about it? Would you be annoyed if an Italian chain did something like this?
Staying on the subject sales, PS5 continues to be the best-selling in Spain, Xbox sells a tenth.
