We know Sony Interactive Entertainment London Studio is currently busy on a new one game for PS5, but we do not yet know what it is, so we rely on job advertisements to try to steal some details: from these emerges the possibility that the new project is based on procedural content and worlds.
A few days ago it emerged that PlayStation London Studio is working on an exclusive multiplayer game, which could also be associated with the new detail that has emerged in these hours. One of the job postings the team posted is about looking for a Procedural Technical Artist, a role in itself already quite explicit.
In the description of the work to be done, we also read: “Using knowledge in procedural content generation to help build efficient and iterative pipelines in the creation of art, materials and triple A content for environments.
Among the additional information, a good knowledge and experience with Houdini is also required for the generation of procedural worlds, as well as experience in the “development of technical art including procedural content, shaders, tools and optimizations”.
In short, it seems quite evident that Sony London Studio is very interested in exploiting the procedural generation content for the creation of the new game, perhaps for the construction of worlds and settings. It is not certain that these elements will be found within the project under development, but it is likely that they will be used in the future by the company. In any case, if it were really a multiplayer game, this type of content construction could find an easy application.
We remind you that among the most recent games developed by London Studio there are Blood & Truth and PlayStation VR Worlds for PlayStation VR and SingStar: Ultimate Party.
